A Sacred Space,

Reimagined

A historical 1912 church transformed into a visionary design
showhouse, adaptive reuse project, and cultural destination.

Concetti’s CEO + Principal Designer, Rachel Nelson, has an exciting new project beginning. She and her husband Joe purchased an historic church and will be transforming the property into their dream home.

Although it remained vacant for 15 years, they saw tremendous potential in restoring its historic charm and repurposing it as a vibrant property within Detroit’s Indian Village neighborhood. With careful renovation and thoughtful design, Rachel and Joe envision breathing new life into this landmark, preserving its architectural heritage while providing modern amenities.

Construction is set to begin in February 2025, with an anticipated move-in date of summer 2026. Follow along on Instagram as they continue to share updates on this exciting journey of restoration and revitalization!

The Beginning

Nestled in the heart of Indian Village, Detroit’s most iconic and historic neighborhood, the church stands as a testament to the city’s rich architectural heritage. Originally built in 1949 as St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church and later housing Mount Olive East Missionary Baptist Church, this landmark has long been a fixture in the community.

The Vision

Divinely Detroit is a thoughtful blend of modern living and historic preservation. Rachel and Joe are honoring the building’s original architecture, from its arched windows to vaulted ceilings, while layering in contemporary amenities that enhance how the space lives today. More than a private residence, the home will also serve as a living showhouse, bringing together trusted brand partners and intentional design through public tours and events that invite the community to experience how great products and great design come together to create homes that truly work for the people inside them.
