#TravelHome
Jeff and Melissa Hassan spend their working lives in some of the world's most beautiful resorts, so coming home to builder-grade bathrooms never quite added up. Their primary bath was a big room used badly: an oversized jetted tub nobody touched, a cramped shower, and a pitched ceiling hiding in plain sight. We flipped the floor plan on its head, using the ceiling as our guide. The flat section became a sleek wet room with a double showerhead and a glowing LED niche, and the pitched section now frames a freestanding soaking tub. The hardest part was the most fun. Melissa loves warm wood and a little boho whimsy, Jeff loves clean lines and indirect lighting, and the finished space feels like both of them at once. It's a true retreat, and one the kids are always welcome to wander into.
Across the hall, the bathroom shared by Melissa’s office and her daughter’s bedroom got a bold and joyful makeover of its own. A custom black and white mosaic floor with pops of baby pink sets the tone, carried through a terrazzo console sink, an arched shower opening, and hanging plants for a touch of boho charm. We centered the toilet on the window, because the details you never notice are the ones that make a room feel right. Towels hang low enough for little hands, and the whole space has a youthful spark she'll grow into for years. Two bathrooms, one family, and a home that finally feels like a vacation.
