2022 has been hugely transformational for us. We’ve grown our team, learned a lot to become better interior design strategists, and collaborated with amazing clients to create gorgeous, functional, and meaningful spaces across Detroit, the metro area, and Michigan.
The biggest catalyst of our growth was our rebrand at the start of the year. We wanted to make one thing very clear to our clients: We want YOU to be boldly YOU!
Leading up to our rebrand, we realized we wanted to be more boldly us, too. To better amplify our client’s authenticity, it was time for us to show OUR personality and unleash the bold approach, out-of-the-box aesthetic, and conviction to excellence that comes with it.
It was time for us to become US. BOLDLY US.
“What you think, you become. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you create.” – Buddha
This mindset shift and rebrand has helped us attract a growing number of clients who unlocked our most inspired work to date. As the year nears its end, we’re highlighting some of our favorite projects that captured our clients’ essence perfectly and explaining why we loved them.
Whatever you’re most interested in – commercial, residential, or in progress projects – checking these out may give you the inspiration you need to be boldly you in 2023!
Co-Created Commercial
The Project: The Color Block – Detroit, MI
Why We Loved It: On top of its perfect blend of function and aesthetic, this project was essentially a love letter to Detroit and the creatives who live and work here. Plus, we were able to call on our rolodex of local partners to help bring the multi-faceted design to fruition.
The Project: Good Cakes and Bakes – Detroit, MI
Why We Loved It: From the very start, we were aligned with our client on the belief that the places we work in deeply impact our well-being. This belief ultimately led to an effortlessly functional space – for employees and customers – beaming with positivity, creativity, and warmth to help our clients accomplish their current and future business objectives.
The Project: The Film Lab – Hamtramck, MI
Why We Loved It: Located in a former Polish Legion of American Veterans Hall, this structure still had retro paneling and the original marble front bar intact – the perfect bones to let our client’s creativity run wild.
Rockin’ Residential
The Project: Gettin’ City with It – Midtown, Detroit, MI
Why We Loved It: Not only did this project end up oozing Detroit essence, but the use of strategic multi-functional design provided our client with a space that met his day-to-day functional and aesthetic goals.
The Project: Call It a Fungalow – Grosse Pointe Woods, MI
Why We Love It: This one hit a little closer to home…literally. In this special project, Concetti CEO & Principal Designer Rachel Nelson opened up her home for MDC‘s Designers' Own Home Tour as a philanthropic effort to raise money for DPTV and their non-commercial, educational programming.
The Project: Livin’ Free in the D – Rivertown, Detroit, MI
Why We Love It: We collaborated with Wayne State University Interior Design students to convert a barren industrial loft space into a light-filled urban oasis. We guided each student as they presented their individual design ideas to the homeowner, who ultimately chose to incorporate one of the students’ concepts into the final design and selections.
Percolating Progress
The Project: Bold in Brush Park – Brush Park, Detroit, MI
Why We Love It: After moving into her apartment, our client quickly realized her space felt devoid of personality…and didn’t match her vibrant, larger-than-life personality whatsoever. To help make the space boldly her, we worked together to design a new interior that expressed her unique style.
The Project: Build Institute – Detroit, MI
Why We Love It: The Build Institute does incredible work for the Detroit entrepreneurial community and deserves a space in which the staff and clientele feel represented and supported. Our collaboration with Build members resulted in a redesign representative of Detroit’s bright, energetic, creative, and entrepreneurial community.
The Project: Naturally Newtral
Why We Love It: Our client’s new construction home and keen design eye was Co-Collaboration at its finest! They brought us in as their interior design partner to oversee day-to-day decisions and ensure their dream home was built according to their standards.
Ever since making the decision to boldly embrace ourselves, we’ve had the pleasure of helping clients create spaces that are boldly, authentically them…and we wouldn’t change it for anything.
We can’t wait to see what 2023 has in store and to bring you along for the ride!
Let’s create a space that’s boldly YOU!
